Lockport man charged with Leandra's Law violation

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A Lockport man is facing a Leandra's Law charge following a DWI road check by the New York State Police Friday on the Lockport Bypass.

Jeffrey S. Wozniak, 30, was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated and for violating Leandra's Law, when troopers found him driving with two children in the vehicle, ages 10 and 8.

Wozniak was issued appearance tickets for 1 p.m. Thursday in Lockport Town Court.

Also arrested in the road check were:

• Zachary M. Zaepfel, 20, of Clarence was arrested for driving while intoxicated with drugs and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Zaepfel was issued tickets to return to Lockport Town Court.

• Jeffrey S. Pomeroy, 44, of Williamsville was arrested for driving while intoxicated drugs. State police said after a test refusal, Pomeroy was ticketed for DWI. He is to appear in Tuesday in Lockport Town Court. • Charles E. Griffith, 31, of Niagara Falls was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance. State troopers said Griffith was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and about 6 grams of crack cocaine. In addition, Griffith was charged with unlawful possession of fireworks after a quantity of fireworks was found during an inventory search, state police reported. His arraignment is pending in the Town of Lockport Court.
