Spouse charged in Cambria meth lab discovery

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A second person was charged Monday in connection with the discovery of a methamphetamine lab last week in Cambria.

Thomas W. McCabe III, 36, of 4890 Saunders Settlement Road, was charged with third-degree manufacturing of methamphetamine, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, after he was tracked down in the Town of Tonawanda on Monday by officers from the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, the Violent Felony Task Force and U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, according to Sheriff James Voutour.

McCabe's wife, Leah McCabe, 34, was arrested on the same charges Dec. 6 after the sheriff's office acted on a tip about possible meth-making at the McCabe home. Officers found commonly used ingredients and an active laboratory, the sheriff's office said last week. Mrs. McCabe was arraigned in Cambria Town Court and was ordered held on $10,000 bail.

Mr. McCabe was arraigned and also was jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail on Monday.
