Rochester man arrested with stolen credit card

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Lockport Police, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department and the K-9 patrol provided a high impact example at 1 p.m. Thursday at Washburn and Spaldling streets.

The city last month announced an “Impact Zone” crackdown in the area just north of downtown, including the Washburn-Spalding area, in a response to recent high-profile arrests. Thursday’s dragnet produced one arrest.

David D. Martin Jr., 22, 26 Edgeland St., Rochester was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Martin was wanted on a warrant out of Rochester.

Police were dispatched to 294 Washburn St. for the report of unwanted persons at the residence. The LPD was also following up on a Jan 3. shooting near the intersection of Walnut Street and Washburn where a 46-year-old man was shot outside the Gulf gas station.

The police and Niagara County Sheriffs deputies surrounded the apartment. Sgt. Jim Hildreth and his K-9 partner searched the inside of the house where they found Martin. A woman inside the residence was also questioned.

It was determined that Martin was in possession of a victim’s credit card and he was taken to police headquarters where he was booked. Martin’s arraignment is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday at city court.

Seekins did not know if Martin would be extradited to Rochester.
