Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A South Street woman was arrested Saturday after Lockport police rescued two juvenile males who were climbing out a third-floor window.
Teryn L. Hallatt, 25, 84 Locust St. Apt. B faces two charges of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.
According to a police report, officers responded to 84 Locust Street to investigate a report of a juvenile who had fallen out of a third story window. Upon arrival, police saw one male on top of the roof of the second floor, and a second male hanging out of a third story window.
Police knocked on the door, and Hallett answered the door and let police inside.
Officers were able to get the juvenile on the roof safely inside through a window. He was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport for treatment.
While inside the apartment, police noticed a "strong odor" of marijuana and saw a cigar containing a green leafy substance smoldering in a bathroom ashtray. A plastic bag with a similar substance was also in plain view. The substance in both the cigar and bag filed tested positive for marijuana.
According to the report, Hallett told police she had been smoking marijuana in the apartment during the time the child must have fallen out of the third floor window.
Hallett was held in lieu of $250 bail.
