Newfane reports vehicle break-ins

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — NEWFANE — Three town residents reported their vehicles were broken into over night Tuesday.

A Prospect Street man reported two boxes of rifle ammunition were taken from the glove box in his truck. The victim said that he pressed the “lock” button on his truck remote but the remote did not work. He discovered that a box of Remington and box of Winchester cartridges, valued at $90, were missing.

A Walnut Street man reported a GPS, valued at $100, and about $7 in loose change was taken from his vehicle sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

A Walnut Street neighbor reported that sometime overnight an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and removed $5 in loose change and the ashtray from the vehicle.
