LHS spikers still unbeaten in NFL play

Lady swim Lions tame visiting N-W, Barker field hockey team suffers rare loss.

AKRON — The Lady Tigers' Eliza Papke led all runners with a time of 20:27, as Akron won a Niagara-Orleans League dual meet on Tuesday afternoon.
Akron's Margo Henley came in second with a time of 21:08, and the Lady Tigers' Kylee Schultz took third at 21:21.
Akron improves to 7-0 in league competition, while Barker drops to 5-2.

AKRON — Newfane's Kelly Buchnewetch led all runners with a time of 21:40, as the Lady Panthers swept a Niagara-Orleans League tri-meet at Akron Falls Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Kim Guerss of Newfane took second place, while Albion's Meredith Patterson and Hannah Wehling came in third and fourth respectively.
Newfane improves to 6-1 in league play, while CSAT falls to 1-6. Albion is now 3-4.

Roy-Hart 1, Newfane 0
NEWFANE — Kelsey Eldridge scored with 17 minutes remaining in the first half, as Roy-Hart earned a hard-fought 1-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League game on Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, Roy-Hart earns its first league victory of the season, and coach Colleen Albee said it's a testament to the team's energy and work ethic throughout the afternoon.
"The girls played together, they were hungry and they went after it," Albee said. "We shut down Newfane's top scorer, Morgan Bedford, and we did a great job getting the ball upfield."
Haley Moore earned the shutout in goal for the Lady Rams, who improve to 1-10 in league play. Newfane drops to 4-6.

TOWN OF TONAWANDA — Kaeli Mathias scored the lone goal for the Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday giving them the victory.
The loss was the first Niagara-Orleans League regular-season loss for the Lady Raiders in eight years, according to head coach Jeff Costello.
