Lady Lions advance to 'VI' Class AA semifinal

Bechtold finds the range in43-42 win over Frontier.

CLASS A-1 QUARTERFINALS
3-Will South 42, 2-Starpoint 41
BUFFALO — The No. 3 Lady Billies overcame an early 10-4 deficit to defeat Starpoint, 42-41.
Starpoint’s six-point lead was cut down to just a three-point margin at halftime, with the Billies outscoring the Spartans 14-11 in the second quarter.
They also won the next two quarters, both by just two points. In the end, it was good enough to bring a finish to the Lady Spartans’ season.
Jenna Faulkner led Starpoint (13-4) with 12 points, including two, 3-point baskets. Karen Kreppenneck also hit twice from 3-point range, finishing with eight points in the game.
Leading Williamsville South was Emily Smith with 16 points.
Next up, Will South advances to the A-1 final at Buffalo State College on Sunday.
