BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 9

City of Lockport

• ASSAULT: Leandra C. Gillon, 19, 263 South St., Apt. F, was charged Thursday morning with third-degree assault. Gillon and another woman allegedly fought with a third woman outside the Jiffy Mart on Remick Parkway on Dec. 30. The victim, who is six months pregnant, told police the women were asking her questions about her boyfriend and then began to punch her and pull her hair. Gillon was released on her own recognizance.

Town of Lockport

• HARASSMENT: Ronald J. Slade, 39, 51 Franklin St., Apt. 4, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct, second-degree harassment, reckless driving and reckless endangerment of property. A Dysinger Road man told deputies a black car was tailgating him while he was driving south on South Transit Road about 6:35 p.m. The man said he pulled into the Wal-Mart parking lot, and the black car followed him. When the man parked his van, Slade allegedly got out of the black car and began pounding on the van while yelling racial slurs. The man said he tried to get out of the van, but Slade allegedly pushed the door, pinching the man’s left arm in the door. The man said his 10-month-old son was in the back seat and was startled when Slade banged on the side of the van. Slade allegedly ran into the store, still yelling racial slurs, the report said. The man called 911 with Slade’s license plate number, and deputies went to Slade’s house to interview him. Slade allegedly admitted using racial slurs. He was held in lieu of $250 bail.

• LARCENY: An employee at Applebee’s on South Transit Road reported Wednesday night that she set down her bag and left it unattended while she was working. When she returned, about $80 in cash was missing from the bag.

Pendleton

• LARCENY: An Alexander Park woman reported Wednesday that on Oct. 15, she hosted a Party Lite merchandise party at her home, attended by a company representative who sold Party Lite home decorating products. During the party, $472.64 in products were sold and paid for in cash. Since then, the products have not been received. The woman said she contacted Party Lite and the company said none of the orders were placed.

Wheatfield

• SUSPICIOUS: Deputies responded to Bon-Ton on Williams Road Monday for a report of a suspicious person. An employee told deputies a man purchased a fold-up shovel that was on clearance. As he was checking out, the employee said she asked him what he was going to do with the shovel, and he replied he was going to keep it in his vehicle because it was “good to dismember things with.” The employee said she told the man someone had tried to break into her friend’s car, and the man told her, “That’s why we carry guns.” The employee said the man never threatened her, but he was acting odd and she wanted the incident documented.
