City police are investigating a nighttime break-in at a home on Walnut Street.
A Walnut Street man reported Thursday that overnight, someone entered his home through a front window and stole several items, including prescription hydrocodone and carisoprodol pills.
The man said a DVD player, two comforters and two pillows were also taken.
Together, the items are worth about $510, the report said.
The man said he believed the window was locked. It appeared someone pushed in the plastic that was over the window, then left the window open when they left.
The stolen items were in a basket inside the man’s dresser.
The man said he’d been involved in an argument earlier in the evening with a Washburn Street man.
He said he’d noticed the items missing but did not notify police until he noticed his pills had been stolen.
Officers found footprints around the window area and noticed damage to a second window on the other side of the home.
A neighbor reported seeing a tall, white male carrying blankets on Walnut Street about midnight.
The investigation is continuing.
