TOWN OF LOCKPORT: Motorcyclist dies in crash

TOWN OF LOCKPORT —
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer at Ridge and Stone roads about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Department identified the man who was killed as Stephen Stodolka, 21, of Appleton.
Stodolka was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Barnard Green of Minnesota, was taken to Inter-Community Memorial Hospital in Newfane for evaluation.
After an initial investigation, the sheriff’s department reported that the westbound tractor-trailer operated by Green turned south onto Route 93 from Ridge Road into the path of the eastbound motorcycle operated by Stodolka.
The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending, deputies said.
In addition to the sheriff’s department, emergency responders included the Wrights Corners Fire Department, Miller Hose Co. and the Cambria Fire Department.
