CRIME: Man accused of assaulting his mother on Mother's Day

Staff Reports
Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

A man is facing a felony assault charge after he allegedly choked his mother during an argument at their Locust Street home on Mother’s Day.

Michael R. Frischholz, 22, was charged Sunday night with second-degree assault and two counts each of second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.

Officers responded to the home about 9 p.m. for a report of a domestic argument.

They reportedly entered the home and found Frischholz holding his mother by the throat, pinning her to the couch.

Frischholz allegedly released his mother when he saw the officers enter. He was taken into custody.

The woman told police she had returned home and found Frischholz was highly intoxicated.

He allegedly became verbally and physically abusive and threw his sister to the kitchen floor, the report said.

When his mother began yelling at him, telling him to stop, he allegedly grabbed her and threw her down on the couch, pinning her down with his hands around her throat, the report said.

Frischholz’s mother and sister were not injured during the incident, but they reportedly told police they were scared for their safety.

While Frischholz was being booked at the Lockport Police Department, he was allegedly verbally abusive toward officers, telling them, “I’m going to kill you guys. Let God sort it out.”

When officers tried to put Frischholz in handcuffs, he allegedly resisted and had to be physically subdued, the report said.

He was reportedly unable to be fingerprinted or photographed because of his combative nature.

Frischholz was held without bail.
