COLLISION: Heavy damage to car, no injuries in accident on Bowmiller

There were no reported injuries when a car hit a parked dump truck about 6 p.m. Tuesday on Bowmiller Road near Akron Road. Sheriff’s deputies said the driver of the car, June Witte of Chestnut Road, Gasport, was eastbound on Bowmiller when she reportedly misjudged the distance and struck the rear corner of the truck’s trailer with the passenger side of her vehicle. Witte was not hurt in the crash, according to reports. Responding to the scene were Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies and the South Lockport Volunteer Fire Co., under the direction of Chief Jim Clewell. The impact of the crash was so severe, it ripped the doors off the passenger side of the car and imbedded the doors into the trailer of the other vehicle.
