Staff Reports
Two teenage boys were arrested Wednesday in connection with a Monday evening police chase.
Dominique L. Middleton, 16, 13 Blackley Court, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, resisting arrest, failure to signal, driving without a valid license and third-degree unlawful fleeing.
Darion V. Bell, 17, 69 LaGrange St., was charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Officers reportedly noticed a strange car outside a Genesee Street house about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
When officers approached, the car abruptly drove away, spinning its tires.
Officers tried to stop the car on Genesee Street, but the car continued to the corner of Ashley Place and Locust Street, where Bell and Middleton allegedly got out and began running.
Officers chased after the driver, but lost him after he cut through a yard and went south toward Spalding Street.
A cell phone was found on the ground just outside the driver’s side door.
The car had been reported stolen in the city earlier that day, the report said.
After an investigation, Middleton and Bell were arrested.
Each was released on his own recognizance, and both are due Monday in Lockport City Court.
