BLOTTER: Police reports published Nov. 24

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

City of Lockport

• HARASSMENT: Clayton M. Herring, 26, 2149 Transit Road, Burt, was charged Monday with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. Police who responded to the suspect’s apartment for a harassment complaint said Herring began yelling and screaming at the victim about the apartment not being clean. A witness reportedly told police that the suspect went into the kitchen, threw and broke a chair then punched the victim in the face and bit her in the right leg.

• DWI: Arthur L. Shellman, 49, 133 Washburn St., Apt. 3B, was charged Monday with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated. Officers stopped a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation. Police said Shellman appeared to be intoxicated and failed all sobriety tests. Upon searching the vehicle, police found two plastic bags containing a white powdery substance and pills, according to the report.

• MARIJUANA: Rahsaan Dyrell Ubiles, 19, 1914 16th St., Niagara Falls, was charged Sunday with second-degree criminal impersonation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police said they observed a vehicle with the suspect in it parked outside a residence on Michigan Street. Upon questioning, Ubiles reportedly gave police a false name, because he said he had a warrant against him. Marijuana was found in the vehicle, according to the report.

• MARIJUANA: Lawrence R. Carson, 17, 16 La Grange St., and Aaron M. Staubbs, 16, 84 Ransom St., were charged Sunday with unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop. The police report said both Carson and Staubbs possessed marijuana.

• HARASSMENT: Carl M. Hosmer, 22, 211 High St., was charged Sunday with second-degree criminal mischief and harassment. Police were called to High Street for an alleged disturbance report. Upon arrival, police interviewed witnesses who reportedly said Hosmer pushed and broke the victim’s glasses, because the victim was blocking Hosmer’s view of the television in his apartment. The suspect was arrested and held in lieu of $750 bail.

Wheatfield

• MISSING PERSON: At 6:42 p.m. on Nov. 19, officers spoke with a Lakeside Drive, Wheatfield, resident about a missing person. The caller reportedly told deputies that the missing person flew from Buffalo to metropolitan Washington, D.C., for a job fair Nov. 14 and was supposed to be back in Western New York on Nov. 17. The Wheatfield man said he tried to reach the missing person after he failed to board the plane home. On Friday, the missing person was found to be OK. A police report said the man was in a car accident before heading to the airport in Washington, D.C., and was taken to the hospital, causing him to miss his flight.
