Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The sheriff’s office said Wednesday night it won’t release the names of the victims until sometime this morning to give them time to notify family members and for the Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit to continue their investigation.
“The weather was fine at the time,” Voutour said. No charges were placed at the site of the accident, but the sheriff indicated that speeding may have been involved. The accident occurred on a straight stretch of road.
All three vehicles were occupied only by their drivers. There does not appear to be any alcohol or drug involvement on the part of any of the three drivers, the sheriff’s office reports.
The road was closed at Maple and Beebe roads, and the accident investigators from the Sheriff’s Office were on the scene until after sunset.
