Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Delphi cutting jobs
Delphi is cutting positions at its Lockport technical center on Upper Mountain Road.
The automotive components company declined to provide a number of how many employees would be affected, however.
”Delphi has made some adjustments to align its staffing with current business needs. These adjustments further strengthen the company’s ability to compete in a competitive marketplace globally,” said Andrea Knapp, Delphi media relations manager, in an email.
She added that “Lockport continues to be a hub for engineering design in the thermal systems business for Delphi.”
The technical center on Upper Mountain Road remained part of Delphi after General Motors took back the neighboring manufacturing complex, which was also under the Delphi name, in 2009.
Prior to that, Delphi was a parts component of GM, until it spun off into its own company in 1999.
