Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A suspect in the Sunday afternoon stabbing at Big Lots on Transit Road was arrested Tuesday night in Niagara Falls.
Jason Clark, 39, of Lockport, was charged with second-degree felony assault on an outstanding warrant from the City of Lockport, after being arrested during a "buy-bust" operation involving methamphetamine. The Niagara Falls Police Department Narcotics Division detectives and the Niagara County Drug Task Force were involved in the arrest.
Clark's arrest on charges related to the stabbing at Big Lots is imminent, Niagara County Undersheriff Michael Filicetti said Wednesday afternoon.
In Niagara Falls, Brittany Blenker, 23, was arrested after fighting with a city police officer during Clark's arrest and causing his service weapon to discharge. Another woman in the house was struck in the thigh but refused treatment at the hospital. Blenker was charged with obstructing government administration, felony assault and felony reckless endangerment.
Along with the drug bust, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office had information that Clark would be in the area, Filicetti said.
The stabbing took place around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Big Lots. An argument between two men and a Spring Street man and woman inside the store carried out to the parking lot, where the Spring Street man was stabbed in the upper body. The man was treated at Eastern Niagara Hospital before being taken to the Erie County Medical Center for further treatment.
