YMCA volunteers honored for service

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Monica Barrett was presented the Family and Youth Services award, for giving more than 250 volunteer hours to the YMCA Child Watch Service since Sept. 2012.

The School Age Child Care Staff Recognition was presented to the Starpoint Staff team, consisting of Ben Pytlik, Alexis Rivera, Whitney Blackley, Olivia Weil, Alex Pytlik, Jon Curry and  Tiffany Peirce. The staff was honored for its dedicated service to more than 25 percent of children registered in the entire school age child care program.

James Quinones was named the Teen Leader of the Year. A member of the Teen Leaders Club since 2009, Quinones was elected as an Officer At-Large before he was elevated to club historian. His service hours are approaching the 100 hour benchmark.

The Gary Lambert Memorial Award, given to the men’s league basketball player who best exemplifies the Y values of sportsmanship and Christian character, was presented to Joseph Anderson.
