Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Lockport High School is hosting an open house at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17, starting in the auditorium.
Parents will be able to follow their child’s schedule and meet briefly with each of their child’s instructors. During the shortened class periods, faculty members will give an overview of their course, explain their grading procedures and provide parents with tips on how they can monitor student progress and help their child to succeed in each course.
The format of open house requires that parents be in their child’s first period class promptly at 7 p.m. in order to receive a copy of their child’s schedule and a building map.
Parking has been a problem for open house in the past. Parents are encouraged to consider carpooling, plan on arriving early and using street parking. Charles Upson and the Kenan Center lots are alternatives to using the LHS parking lot.
Open house is not designed as a time for discussing the progress of individual students. Parents can schedule conferences for this purpose by contacting their child’s guidance counselor during open house or by calling 478-4469.
