Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A Cambria man was arraigned in town court and held on $10,000 bail after the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and State Police discovered methamphetamine lab at a Saunders Settlement address Friday.

Leah McCabe, 34, was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.

According to Sheriff James R. Voutour, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of possible methamphetamine being produced at 4890 Saunders Settlement Road. Deputy Ray Tracy and Investigators from the Niagara County Drug Task Force found items commonly used for the making of methamphetamine and an active methamphetamine lab.

The Investigators and Deputy  evacuated the residence and contacted the New York State Police and requested that their Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) respond. The CCSERT conducted decontamination and secured hazardous materials for safe disposal.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
