Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The company that owned the truck that caught on fire on Tuesday while trimming trees on Clinton Street was out of sub-contracted by NYSEG, according to the Lockport police report.
SAFLO, which is headquartered in Allentown, Pa., services utility companies in 15 states.
There were two workers in the basket cutting branches when a limb came down on a live power line. The line landed near the truck and began to arch, causing the truck tires to go up in flames.
NYSEG turned off the power and residents were without electricity for about three hours. There were no injuries reported.
