Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The Mud Creek Central Railroad will be giving rides on a miniature-scale railroad on from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 7349 Tonawanda Creek Road.
Passengers will travel through woods, an open field, a tunnel and across bridges on this journey of just over a mile. Three trains will be running, each carrying from 10 to 12 people. A family can ride for $10 for the entire day.
This is the forth year Mud Creek Central has had these public runs. The journey teaches kids about railroads, as this scale railroad has the same thing as a large railroad has but at a one-eighth scale, according to Mike Burg of M&M Precision.
A basket auction will be held with the drawing on Sunday around 2 p.m. Winners do not have to be present to win.
Mud Creek Central Inc. is a non- profit club that was formed to run a track so the member that built these engines have a place run and show their work. The club has been laying track for about five years, built an engine house, a turntable and many sidings.
