City erects barriers on Chestnut Street to prepare for demolition

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Concrete barriers have been placed at the site of the new ice rink on Chestnut Street in preparation for the demolition of the property, according to the Lockport Police Department.

Demolition will begin in the next few weeks and barriers have been placed on Chestnut Street for the purpose of keeping pedestrians and vehicles away from falling debris.

For the foreseeable future, Chestnut Street between Market Street and Charles Street will be one-way in an easterly direction. Vehicles should enter Chestnut Street from Market Street and leave the area via the intersection of Charles and Chestnut Street.
