Falls man accused of stealing guns

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A Niagara Falls man faces several charges after Niagara County sheriffs deputies investigated a report of a possible burglary in progress at a Lake Road property Thursday.

Kristopher L. Buehler, 28, 1814 18th St., Niagara Falls was arrested after deputies found two firearms, believed to have been taken from the residence, in the back of a pickup truck.

According to reports from the sheriff’s office, patrol responded to a report of a suspicious man in all white clothing walking around a Lake Road residence.

A deputy saw an unoccupied pickup truck parked on the side of the road in front of the property. A black computer case was sitting on the truck floor, in front of the passenger seat. He and a second deputy then saw the suspect walking in the back yard. The man identified himself as Buehler.

Buehler told deputies that he knocked at the front door to see if anyone was home because he needed help fixing his mother’s broken down truck. He explained that no one answered the door, so he then walked around the residence and knocked on the back door to see if anyone answered again. When no one answered the back door, Buehler said he decided to walk to the lake.

According to the report, Buehler said he drove to the Wilson area with his mother to look at apartments. When the truck broke down, Buehler said his mother called a friend to pick her up and bring her home to Niagara Falls. Buehler addeed he was waiting for his mother to return with a mechanic to fix the truck and drive him home.

Using Buehler’s cell hone, deputies called his mother, who confirmed the story and added her computer should be inside the truck. She also gave deputies permission to search her truck.
