Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who used a handgun to rob a Wrights Corners gas station on Saturday night.
The suspect was described as a white man between 6-feet and 6-feet-two inches tall and weighing about 225 pounds. He was dressed all in black and wearing a ski mask when he entered the Stop-n-Gas store on Lake Ave. near Ridge Road around 10:42 p.m. and demanded money, the sheriff's office reported.
The clerk complied and the man fled on foot behind the store with an undetermined amount of cash. A report filed by the sheriff's office put the number at $200.
The clerk said she was speaking with a customer, one who is a regular at the station, by the front entrance of the store when the man approached her from the south side of the building. Putting the gun to her face, the man pushed the clerk back into the store, threatening her with the gun and demanding the money from the cash register.
According to the incident report, the man reached across the counter and grabbed all of the money and took off on foot heading west, behind the store.
Witnesses said the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, black pants and the ski mask. The clerk said she could see the man was white, even through the ski mask.
The gun was described as black, but witnesses were unsure of what type the weapon was. The clerk told deputies she thought it was fake but wasn't sure, The man also had a knife, but it was in his pants pocket and he did not show it or threaten anyone with it, the clerk reported.
