Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — HOLLEY — Gia Arnold, a candidate for the Republican nomination for 62nd District New York state senator, is presenting Orleans County's "first official shot heard around the U.S." on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Holley Rod and Gun Club, 4189 Pumping Station Road.
At noon, attendees will fire one shot to represent NY Revolution's support of the Second Amendment. The event also coincides with the date on which the original "Shot Heard Around the World" was fired during the American Revolution, Arnold said.
This event is open to the public. Doors open at 11 a.m. A $1 entrance fee will be donated to the SCOPE Legal Defense Fund.
Arnold, a resident of Clarendon, is the state coordinator of NY Revolution, a group that formed after enactment of the NY-SAFE Act.
All firearms are welcome at the event except .50 BMG, she said.
