Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Sheriff’s Office announces ‘Click It or Ticket’
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office will be taking part in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign with law enforcement agencies from across the state starting on Monday and running through June 1.
According to data the Sheriff’s Office released, fatal crashes doubled on Niagara County roadways from 2012 to 2013. Further, one out of 10 drivers do not wear a seatbelt, and seatbelt usage drops at night. Pickup truck drivers and their passengers also tend to wear seatbelts less than drivers of other vehicles.
Wearing a seatbelt is the best way to save lives and reduce serious injuries during accidents, Niagara County Sheriff Jim Voutour said.
