Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The Landlords’ Association of Greater Niagara will host a seminar on fair housing law next week.
The seminar by Housing Opportunities Made Easy (HOME) of Buffalo will update rental property owners on the latest standards and practices in fair housing law and discrimination. All who complete the 90-minute course will receive a certificate of completion.
The seminar is “another in a series of steps landlords can take to become better stewards of the properties they own and manage,” LAGN President Bob Pascoal said.
The seminar will be held in conjunction with LAGN’s next general meeting, at 9 a.m. Wednesday May 8 at the Jetport Restaurant, 100 Porter Road, Niagara Falls. The seminar fee is $10; to reserve a seat, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (619) 840-0838.
LAGN is open to all rental property owners in Niagara County. It’s the group that recently successfully lobbied the county legislature to instruct Niagara County Social Services to pay Temporary Aid recipients’ monthly housing grants directly to the recipients’ landlords.
