Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — At a meeting in March, Kinyon informed the board Lockport lost out on a data center deal because of the lack of dark fiber in the IDA Park. There are two dark fiber providers now, the other being Windstream.
The problem was there was only one dark fiber provider for the park, Kinyon said. Installing it throughout the park would be expensive for the town, so until there’s a firm looking for it, Kinyon suggested the board not invest in it.Contact reporter Joe Olenick at 439-9222, ext. 6241 or follow him on Twitter @joeolenick.
