Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A one-month old infant was injured in a rollover accident at 11 p.m. Wednesday on Robinson Road and transported to Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. He was in stable condition Thursday night, according to the State Police.

Thaddeus Nicpon, 40 of Buffalo, was the driver. Nicpo was arrested and faces a felony driving while intoxicated charge under Leandra’s Law, speeding, moving from lane unsafely and passing a red light. Four people were in the vehicle and all suffered injuries.

According to police reports, troopers responded to Robinson Road and Old Beattie Road for a one-car rollover accident. The  2011 Toyota Corolla went through the intersection, struck a tree and came to rest on its roof according to Trooper Brad Gulczewski. The passengers climbed out through a rear window.

Troopers located the driver and the occupants at Kenyon’s, 6550 Robinson Road. All had injuries from the accident. Thaddeus Nicpon, Brandon Nicpon and Heather Eagan were all transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Leandra’s Law (Child Passenger Protection Act) is a New York state law making it an automatic felony on the first offense to drive drunk with a person age 15 or younger inside the vehicle.

Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies were also on the scene to assist.
