Three charged with fraud

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Three charged with fraud

Three people, including two from Lockport, are facing fraud charges, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said.

Martiza Savinon, 51, of the Town of Lockport, has been charged with making a false written statement, a misdemeanor charge. Pamela Deleon, 20, of Lockport has been charged with first-degree offering a false instrument, a felony. Marcia Rankin, 49, of Niagara Falls has been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.

Savinon is scheduled to appear Aug. 8 in the Lockport Town Court, while Deleon will appear Aug. 5 in Lockport City Court. Rankin is scheduled to appear Aug. 8 in Niagara Falls City Court.

The charges were announced Tuesday after an investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Department of Social Services.
