KeyBank will be celebrating its Neighbors Make the Difference Day by closing most of its branches at noon today.
About 280 western New York employees will be volunteering at 29 different local nonprofit organizations. Some branches, including the Lockport branch on South Transit Road, will remain open to collect nonperishable food items to be donated to local food banks.
KeyBank issued a press release that explained why the bank was holding the event.
“Because KeyBank is committed to the communities we serve, Neighbors Make the Difference Day is an example of that commitment,” the release said. “Corporate wide, some 7,500 employees from Maine to Alaska will be making a difference in their communities.”
