Ruth Nelrose Stone

LEWISTON — Ruth Nelrose Stone, formerly of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Facility. She was 89. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, on August 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Grover C. and Florence (Ogle) Hoene.

Mrs. Stone served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-45. She was a 60-year resident of Lewiston and a longtime member of Niagara Frontier Country Club and the First Presbyterian Church on Cayuga Street in Lewiston.

Mrs. Stone is survived by her two daughters, Diane Salkovitz of Palm Harbor, FL, and Debby Rech of White Plains, NY; and her grandson, Tim Rech. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. Stone in 1992.

There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY 14092. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. If desired, donations may be made in Mrs. Stone's name to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
