Doreen I. Bond

LOCKPORT —

Doreen I. Bond passed away on January 5, 2014 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born in Toronto, Ontario on September 28, 1925, she was the daughter of Leslie and Gladys (Taylor) Blythe.
Doreen worked for the Toronto Star where she was a secretary and also Bell's Grocery Store, Lockport, where she was a buyer and a manager. She volunteered at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, the Senior Citizen Center and enjoyed camping. Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Bond in 1985; and her son, Richard Bond.
Doreen is survived by her daughter, Linda (Anthony) DiPaolo of Lockport; grandmother of Diana Sparks, Sandra (Michael) Sperduti, Ben (Kari) DiPaolo, Tracey Bond, Jeremy Bond and Joseph Bond; great-grandmother of James Sparks, Mason Sparks, Sandra Sparks, Jacquilyn Sperduti, Samantha Sperduti, and Anthony DiPaolo.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11 AM.
