Thomas F. Lodwick, Sr., of Newfane, formerly of Niagara Falls, died on Monday, April 7, 2014, at home, while under care of Niagara Hospice and his loving family. He was born January 30, 1934 in his family home on 101st Street in Niagara Falls, where he later attended local schools.
Mr. Lodwick was a 45-year employee of Airco Speer working as a Precision Machinist, retiring in 1999. An outdoorsman, he treasured the many times he spent at the family cabin in Alleghany County. He was a founding member of its Fin and Point Sportsmen's Club, also serving as its secretary. Tom was a member of the Odd Fellows and was an avid sports enthusiast.
He was the devoted and loving husband of 50 years to Joan (Bowen) Lodwick; dearest father of Jennifer Lodwick of Bullhead City, AZ, William Lodwick of Newfane, Russell (Jan) Lodwick of West Seneca, Theresa (Greg) Parker of Medina, Michael (Pat) Faulhaber of North Tonawanda, Cathy (Alan) Simon of Winnie, TX and Arthur (Amy) Faulhaber of North Tonawanda; devoted brother of Marion Falbo of Virginia and the very proud grandfather to 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Sadly, he was predeceased by three children, Joni Durham, Thomas F. "Madd Dog" Lodwick, Jr. and Suzanne Fitzgerald; and his sister, Joyce Lehman.
The family will be present Friday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM. The interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Niagara Hospice or to Tom's family.
