Gloria M. Faulring, Ph.D. of Lockport passed away on September 16, 2013. She was born in La Junta, CO on October 18, 1922. Gloria was the first woman to graduate from University at Buffalo with an engineering degree with a concentration in metallurgy. After working in the field of steel production for over four decades, Gloria was considered an expert in her field with over 38 patents and several books she co-authored.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kim Harrington (Donald) of Lockport; two granddaughters, Kaitlin Murphy (Jason) of Portland, OR, Megan Mulligan of Tampa, FL; and one great-granddaughter, Annabel Murphy also of Portland.
Burial will be in La Junta, CO at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations to Niagara Hospice or to Niagara County Save-A-Pet would be appreciated by the family.
