Walter J. Adams

MEDINA —  

Walter J. Adams, of Medina, died suddenly early Saturday morning, October 27, 2012 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Mr. Adams was born in Medina, December 27, 1949, the son of the late Walter L. “Sparky” and Winifred Ellen (Thompson) Adams.
A graduate of Medina High School, he served in the US Air Force from 1969-73. He was employed by Pivot Punch Corporation and retired after 25 years. He was a member of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and the Pine Hill Raiders. He enjoyed flying planes, model rockets, fishing, gardening, golf, his computer and facebook.
Survivors include his wife, Candace R. (Proudfoot), whom he married on July 13, 1992; children, Kim (Dave) Heschke, Chris (Denise) Adams, Tom, Valovic, Jr., Lisa Billingsley, Mike (Kim) Adams, James (Carrie) Adams, Nick Adams; loving grandfather of Taylor, Bryan, Madisyn, Kayla, Alayna, Allissa, McKenna, Alicia, Devon, Trevor and Sydney; two sisters, Carol (Vincent) Buondonno and Gail Sarchia (Shaun Wakefield); several nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call on Thursday (2-4, 7-9 PM) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by members of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and the Lincoln Post #1483, VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Assn.
