Warren C. Hyde

LOCKPORT —

Warren C. Hyde passed away on January 20, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on January 24, 1926, he was the son of Mahlon and Frieda (Barclay) Troyer.
Warren served in the Army Air Corps during WW II and worked for Harrison Radiator in production for 34 years, retiring in 1977. He was a very athletic man playing sports throughout college especially basketball for Utica Tech, now Mohawk Community College, was a member of the B. Leo Dolan Post 410 and enjoyed wintering with his wife in Florida for the past 30 years. Warren was predeceased by his wife, Jean Elizabeth Steiner Hyde, on August 3, 2011.
Warren is survived by his children, Laurie (Douglas) Wilson of South Glenns Falls, NY, David (Cynthia) Hyde of Thurman, NY, Kenneth Hyde of Newfane, and Lynnette (Rob) Caughill of Newport Beach, CA; grandfather of thirteen and great-grandfather of seven; brother of the late Harvey Hyde, Arthur Hyde, and Marguerite Lamont; brother-in-law of Gladys (Bill) Hirsch of Cleveland, OH, Sally (LaVerene) Bullard of Lockport, and Marcia Tice of Florida; also survived by his dear friends, Joe and Ruth Lydston; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 24th from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380 would be appreciated.
