JACKSONVILLE, FL —
Frances Ann Elizabeth (Rose) Blackmon fell asleep in death on October 29, 2012, after a long illness. A current resident of Jacksonville, FL, she was born in Lockport on November 25, 1930. She was an active member of Jehovah and enjoyed reading and teaching the Bible, sewing and spending time with her family. Daughter of the late William H. and Ethel Rose; sister of the late William H. Jr. (surviving wife, Rita) Rose of El Pal Alto, CA; late Fredrick (Cecelia) Rose of Lockport and Frank "Skip" (surviving wife, Rose) Rose of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada; and the late Belva E. Martin (close cousin).
She has eight daughters and one son: Frances (Steve) Huston, Mary Ann (late Bobby Joe) Battle, Sonja (Curtis) Snowden of Lockport; Mattie (Michael) Narcisse of Tuscaloosa, AL; Marico (John) Wright of Jacksonville, FL; Justina (Jeffery) Fort, Pembroke Pine; Melissa (Anthony) Wood, Crestview; John W. Blackmon, Sunrise, all of Florida; and the late Deborah (surviving husband, Robert) Riddick of PA; 30 grandchildren, 62 great- grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends, Agnes Blumrick, Sally Benzing, ldell Lewis, May Davis and many other dear friends.
She leaves a legacy that expands four generations; her love will be solely missed.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, Nov. 8th, 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 9th, at 1 PM at the Lockport Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 352 Ontario St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
