Roland Powers

ALDEN — Roland Powers, age 50, of Alden, entered into rest on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Sisters of   Charity Hospital, St. Joseph's Campus in Cheektowaga. Born December 26, 1961 in Jamestown, he was the son of Harriet Bauer and the late Cobert Powers.

Roland was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School. He had worked for Perry's Ice Cream in Akron for the last seven years; he had previously worked at Titan Development in      Gasport.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Jody Stafford. Son of Harriet (David) Bauer and the late Cobert Powers. Step-son of Dorothy Powers. Brother of Sandra Sims, Vanessa (Art) Harris,  Sherry (Norm) DuBois, Kenneth (Jeanette) Powers, Star (Kent) Huth, Roxanne (John) Powers, Kevin Powers, Beth (Brian) Dooley and the late Charles Powers.  Father to Matthew Stafford. Step-brother of Robert Kimber, Richard (Donna) Kimber, Raymond (Rebecca) Kimber, David (Pat) Wheeler, William Wheeler, Bruce Wheeler and John Wheeler. Roland is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial celebration at the Barker Fire Hall, 1660 Quaker Road, Barker, on Saturday, November 17, 2012, from 2-6 PM. Arrangements entrusted to the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, Newfane, NY.
