Earl H. Mellenthien

WILLIAMSVILLE — Earl H. Mellenthien, of Williamsville, NY, formerly of Lockport, NY, husband of the late Eleanor Mellenthien, entered into rest on Friday, March 9, 2012 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, NY. He was born in North Tonawanda on January 18, 1920, the son of the late Alvin and May Arnold Mellenthien.

Earl was a US Marine, serving his country from 1943-1945. He was a self-employed contract painter for many years. He moved to Williamsville in 2008 from Lockport, NY. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport, NY.

Father of Steven Mellenthien of Lockport, Susan (Bill) Borkowski of Snyder, NY and Craig (Karen) Mellenthien of Amherst, NY. Grandfather of Kevin Borkowski, Tonya and Jenna Mellenthien. Brother of Shirley Cramer of Alexander, NY and the late Arnold, Allen and Norwood Mellenthien, Arlene Mellenthien and Carol Stearns. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

No prior visitation. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 67 Saxton Street, Lockport, NY. Private graveside services will be held in Wrights Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association would be appreciated by family.
