Richard A. Sherman

NEWFANE — Richard A. Sherman, of Newfane, NY, husband of the late Eleanor Rose Bohn Sherman, entered  into rest Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane, NY.

He was born in Newfane, NY on August 26, 1934, the son of the late Claude and Jessie          (Weaver) Sherman. He married Eleanor Rose Bohn July 17, 1954. She died September 16, 2009.

He was a truck driver for Frontier Stone in Lockport and worked for 47 years. Rich enjoyed playing euchre, hunting, gardening, square dancing and doing word searches. Member of    Concordia Lutheran Church on Beebe Road.   

Father of Nancy (Roger) Mangine of Newfane, James (Sharon) Sherman of Wilson, Douglas (Sue) Sherman of Jacksonville, FL, Dennis (Wanda) Sherman of Medina, NY, and Jeffrey (Caroline) Sherman of Layton, UT. Brother of Robert Sherman, Dorothy (Thomas) Randall, Evelyn Rhinehart, all of Lockport, Betty Hartung of Wilson, and the late Claude Sherman, Jr., Carol Windnagle and Marjorie Morgan. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, TUESDAY 2-6 PM, where funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. Memorials to Miller Hose Fire Company, PO Box 99, Newfane, NY would be appreciated by the family.
