Roland L. (Rol) Robison, retired Building Maintenance Superintendent for the city of Lockport, died July 19, 2013.
Born and schooled in Lockport, Rol served three years in the US Marine Corp, including one year in Korea as a combat infantryman. He was discharged a Sergeant in 1954. He later attended the University of Buffalo and Niagara University. Rol worked for J.R. Reid and Sons, Inc., and Reid's Drive In. His last position was that of building superintendent for the city of Lockport.
Rol was active in many sports as a young man - football, baseball, basketball and softball. Later years were filled with bowling, fishing, ice fishing and golf. He was a member of St. John's Church, the American Legion, the A-1-7 Organization of the Marine Corps, as well as other organizations.
Robison is survived by his son, Michael (Maria) Robison and their four children (Jake, Matt, Brett, Alex); his daughter, Ann (late Timothy) Sy; his sister, Sheila (John) Lussier; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Robison was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Sharon (Haber) and his brother, Dennis.
Rol had a kind heart and loved to hear and tell a good joke. He is greatly loved and will be missed.
There will be no local services. Interment will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga, NY, at the convenience of the family.
