Gloria A. Bassler

NEWFANE —

Gloria A. Bassler of Newfane, wife of Clifford Bassler, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Eastern Niagara Hospital Newfane, NY. Gloria was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 17, 1940. Daughter of the late John and Anna Sanderson Hayes.
Gloria attended Holy Name Catholic School in Brooklyn, NY. She enjoyed watching old movies, listening to music and playing cards with her family. Gloria loved hosting family gatherings. She and Cliff enjoyed going to church dinners.
Mother of Keith Bassler of Newfane, John (Jennifer) Bassler of Newfane, Diana (Scott) Welch of Maryland and Timothy Bassler of Lockport. Grandmother of Christopher Connor, Thomas Welch, Elizabeth, Melinda and Kevin Bassler. Sister of the late Janet Rush and William Hayes. Also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY 14108 on SATURDAY from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Brendan on the lake Olcott Site (St. Charles) on MONDAY at 11 AM. Burial will be held in Corwin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colon Cancer Alliance, 1025 Vermont Ave., NW, Suite 1066, Washington, DC 20005 in honor of Gloria's daughter, Diana.
