Robert L. Niver

GASPORT — Robert L. Niver passed away December 16, 2012 in the Absolut Health Care Facility, Gasport, NY. Born June 15, 1923 in Lockport, he was the son of Otis and Cornelia (Finch) Niver. Robert was a retired custodian at North Park Middle School for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He was married to the late Mildred (McGowan) Niver, who passed away September 4, 1996. Bob served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946, enjoyed his coffee hour with the group at McDonald's, cowboy movies, wrestling and loved tinkering and fixing items that needed to be fixed.

He was the father of Thomas (Alma) Niver of Cocoa, FL; grandfather of Christopher (Teresa) Niver of Lockport, Michelle (Michael) Ford and Heather Kidney, both of Florida. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren. He was the youngest brother of the late Ray, Otis, Samuel, Francis, Corneali and Janet Niver and Leona Clugston.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM.  Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240, would be appreciated by the family.
