William A. Natemeier, Jr.

LOCKPORT —

William A. Natemeier, Jr. passed away on June 8, 2014. Born in Lockport on September 5, 1943, he was the son of William A. and Ruth (Hoffmaster) Natemeier, Sr. William was a 1961 graduate of Lockport High School and a 1966 graduate from Valparaiso, earning his bachelor's degree in accounting. He worked for GM Powertrain in Tonawanda where he was an accountant for 39 years, retiring in 2005. William was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport, Elks, Moose, and was a board member for Seabreeze Residence Association in Bradenton, FL. He was a life-member of the Lockport YMCA where he founded the girls swim team. He was also a swim official for high school and colleges and was an officials trainer. William was entered into the Lockport YMCA Aquatic Wall of Fame and received the Sportsman of the Year award in 1996.
William is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen (Steele) Natemeier of Hammondsport; father of Mark (Jessica) Natemeier of Erie, PA and Debbie (Tim) Lee of Albany, NY; grandfather of Madison, Luke, Ellie, Kierstin, Brady, Jack, and Ryan. William is also survived by his brother, David P. (Jane) Natemeier of Lockport.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, June 13th, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14th, at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Roswell Park Cancer Institute would be appreciated by the family.
