Charles "Charlie" D. Farr

OCALA, FL — Charles "Charlie" D. Farr, age 76, entered into rest June 9, 2014. He died in his sleep surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Sayre, PA on April 18, 1938, the son of Louis and Louise (Willatt) Farr. Charlie grew up in Waverly, NY and moved to Lockport, NY in 1969. He retired after 30 years from Harrison Radiator, a division of General Motors. He and his wife moved to Ocala, FL 10 years ago from Lockport, NY. He enjoyed Dixieland Jazz, Civil War history, traveling and spending time with his family.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Viola Babcock Farr; sons, Patrick (Terry) Farr of Ellicott City, MD and Michael (Bernadette) Farr of Lockport, NY; brother, Robert (Barb) Farr of Sayre, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a "Celebration of Life" service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Charlie's memory to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), the Junior Jazz Foundation (thejuniorjazzfoundation.org), or the Tioga County Historical Society (www.tiogahistory.org).
