Grace Rosalie Nicolia of Lyndonville, NY, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Nicolia was born in Albion, NY on May 11, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Rosalie (Salemi) Manzella.
She was a graduate of Albion High School and attended Beauty and Cosmetic School in Rochester, NY. She lived most of her life in Middleport and owned and operated Grace's Beauty Shop in Middleport. She and her husband, Vincent A. Nicolia, were married April 24, 1954.
Mrs. Nicolia was a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen's RC Church in Middleport and was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.
She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her husband and she enjoyed her family, playing golf, camping, music and also enjoyed dancing.
She was predeceased by siblings, James Manzella, Josephine Manzella, Frances Ponterella and Jerry Manzella.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent A. Nicolia; two sons, Anthony (Toni Marie) Nicolia of Greece and Vincent (Kathy) Nicolia of Brockport; three grandchildren, Anthony William Nicolia of Ohio, Cassandra Marie Nicolia of Buffalo, and Angela Mary (Mark) Behrend of Alden, NY. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Jacob John Behrend, Luke Vincent Behrend, Mia Grace Behrend; a sister, Ann DePlato of Leroy, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. Members of Holy Trinity Parish will meet at the funeral home Friday at 8:30 PM for a Vigil Service. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM, at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen's RC Church, Vernon St., Middleport, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J.
