Ruth Brady Kaina

EWA BEACH, HI — Ruth Brady Kaina entered into her eternal rest on December 17, 2011, after a brief illness. She was a patient of St. Francis Hospice in Ewa Beach, Hawaii for several days.

Ruth was born June 21, 1934 to the late Joseph and Helen (Brandt) Brady in Lockport, NY. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Lockport and continued her education at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, where she received her RN degree. She worked many years at Lockport Memorial Hospital. Ruth moved from Gasport, NY to Ewa Beach, Hawaii in 1986. She loved watching her sports on TV and feeding the birds every afternoon with her loving companion of the last 20 years, Vern Arhlinger.

She is survived by her children, James Baker, Ohio; Paula (Dennis) Tonnon, Texas; Patricia Daunce, Ransomville, NY; John Baker, Florida; seven grandchildren; her brother, Kevin (Carol) Brady and the father of her children, Walter Baker. She was predeceased by her second husband, Danny Kaina and her sister, Virginia Long.

Private services will be held at a later date. She will be interned at Cold Spring Cemetery.
