Gordon "Skip" Kenyon, Jr.

TOWN OF YATES —

Gordon "Skip" Kenyon, Jr., of the Town of Yates, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home. Mr. Kenyon was born in Barker on October 31, 1925, a son of the late Gordon and Myra (Chaffee) Kenyon, Sr.
A lifelong resident of the area, he served with the US Army during World War II. On January 7, 1945, he married the former Elizabeth Jane Chaffee in the Town of Somerset.
Mr. Kenyon was employed by Eastman Kodak Company, as a machinist, for many years, retiring in 1984.  He loved the outdoors, his John Deere tractors and camping, especially on the French River in Ontario.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Lois) Kenyon of Lyndonville and Terry Lee (Laurie) Kenyon of Kent; five grandchildren, Tammy (Ben) Walker of Lyndonville, Tina Ferri of Fairport, Stacy (Keeley) Swick of Wilson, Denise Baun Lyndonville and Steven (Cindi) Maxwell of Brockport; his brother, Roger (Marilyn) Kenyon of Lyndonville; sister-in-law, Noreen Kenyon of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Jane Kenyon on July 21, 2012; his grandson, Christopher Maxwell; his granddaughter, Tara; his sister, Rita Welliver; and his brother, Delbert Kenyon.
Friends may call on Monday (10:30 AM - 12 Noon) at the Yates Baptist Church, where his service will be held at 12 Noon. The Rev. Lyell Drake will officiate and interment will in Lynhaven Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of Houseman-Tanner Post American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yates Baptist Church or Knights/Kaderli Memorial Fund. Arrangements were completed by the Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
